When the gate leaf is heavy and standard upper hinges shear or bend, this 1 7/8" adjustable upper hinge brings oversized pivot strength to the rescue. Its threaded body lets you lift or drop the gate corner to compensate for hinge wear, seasonal warp, or concrete settlement. The large pin diameter resists lateral shear from wind gusts and impact forces that destroy smaller hardware. Mounted at the frame top, it completes a robust swing axis when paired with a thrust-bearing pintle below. For commercial and monumental gates, it is the tuning dial that keeps everything plumb.
